Hi Etta, thanks for asking! It's a dual-timeline novel (modern day and WW2-era) about a woman who begins to experience her grandmother's memories. Here's the publisher's description:
A neonatal ICU nurse, consumed with grief over the losses of both her mother and newborn daughter, begins to suffer from a series of disturbingly vivid visions. A teenage girl is swept up in a doomed love affair with a young man interned at Manzanar, one of America's notorious concentration camps for Japanese-Americans during World War II. Though decades—and worlds—apart, the lives of these two women are indelibly intertwined, and the actions of one will have profound and lasting implications on the other. At once a powerful coming-of-age novel, a heartbreaking love story, and a harrowing tale of suspense, The Wild Impossibility masterfully illuminates the resilience of love in the face of tragedy, and the power of family to endure despite distance, time, and heartbreak.
The Italy in Mind collection is older, maybe 2012 or so. Click the link; it'll have all the info.
The varied terrain of Italy never ceases to amaze me-- not that there are so many different landscapes, but how close they can be to one another. This is a wonderful road trip story, catching all the twists, turns, mishaps, happy surprises and little revelations. And I love your acne allusion to describe the coastal area of Latina- "spot on" as they say.
Such wonderful photos and commentary! Brought back memories of my October adventure to find my Grandparents’ houses in Agnone and Bojano. Small towns in Italy are precious!
Thank you for taking us to southern Lazio with you.
Curious about your book—is it a novel? Or what genre? And the collection you noted—when was it published? Thanks for sharing your travel story. ❤️

Thanks, Felice. I’m the opposite of all those things, actually, like so many of us. State of the world and all that. And no, cool moat, but no.
