I haven't been to Barcino in 20 years. (did you take a photo with that sign? Corny, I know)
One thing I enjoyed were the fast food tortilla sandwiches for (gulp) €1 each! Yummy omelet on a thin, crispy baguette. How can you go wrong or do better? Do they still sell them, and if so, how much are they now?
Excellent per usual. I visited Barcelona once. Definitely didn’t love it like I love Italy, but it was nice to speak some Spanish, eat some tapas, and relax on a beach.
Your ending made me smile. Definitely Italy men are bello. Not to mention their fashion sense. I could take some pointers.
Thanks, Matt. Yes, I'm glad to have seen it, but I don't feel the need to come back. It's not like Italian cities with tons of museums filled with the art I love that require many repeat visits to see it all.
Oh, no rush; it's far from finished. Another couple of years at least. There are 8 towers now and there will be 18 when they're done. I don't think the interior will change, though.
been a long while since i was in barca. interesting changes seen through your written eyes. we have been investigating moving to spain; alicante/gandia area.

No, in fact I didn't even see the sign! Nor did I see tortilla sandwiches. Lots of crepes and croquettes though!

Love your musings !!
Thank you so much!
I was in Barcelona for New Year's and Epiphany 1998 - before Sagrada Familia was finished. Really need to get back and see it again now that it IS!

Piano piano 😉
...and the women of Barcelona?
According to my son, top shelf!
Bucket list now!
Ha!
Avoid mentioning the word “secession.” ;-)
Good point!

Well, bear in mind they're first impressions. I'm having lunch with a friend who lives here; will be interesting to hear his thoughts.
